Redefining what it means to support kids in school

By making chiropractic care part of the school day,
we’re helping children regulate emotions, reduce stress, & show up as their best selves.

Our mission…

To make chiropractic care a natural and accessible part of the school experience, so one million students and educators can feel healthier, more focused, and fully supported.

When kids are regulated and thriving, teachers feel empowered, classrooms function better, and entire communities grow stronger.

Our vision…

A future where every student, especially those with neurodevelopmental challenges or limited access to care, can receive chiropractic support.

We're expanding trusted, research-backed programs across the country to make this care a natural, essential part of how we support students, educators, and entire school communities.

Meet the founders behind the mission.

Hi, I’m Dr. Lona Cook

I’m a nationally recognized chiropractor, community educator, and co-creator of On-Site Chiropractic—the program that sparked what is now Well-Adjusted Students. With more than 15 years of experience running a thriving family practice in Chippewa Falls, I bring deep expertise and a strong vision to my role overseeing nonprofit growth, partnerships, and expansion into new school districts.

After earning my degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and my Doctorate of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University, I returned to my hometown with a clear mission: to help families experience better living through proactive, nervous system–focused care.

My passion for sharing the power of chiropractic has taken me across the country as an international speaker and as a past president of the Chiropractic Society of Wisconsin.

I live with my husband, Kyle, and our two boys, Jack and Max, on Lake Wissota. When I’m not working, you can usually find us outside enjoying the beauty of the Chippewa Valley, RVing, or traveling the U.S.

Hi, I’m Dr. Amanda Blonigen

I’m an ICPA-certified and FOCUS Foundations–certified pediatric chiropractor and the co-founder of Well-Adjusted Students. I currently provide direct care to students and staff inside the Chippewa Falls School District, where my focus is helping children regulate their nervous systems, feel safer in their bodies, and access their learning with greater ease.

Originally from Ohio, I earned my B.S. in Biology from The Ohio State University and completed my Doctorate of Chiropractic at Life University in Atlanta. I went on to pursue advanced pediatric training and am part of a small percentage of chiropractors in the U.S. to earn Certification from the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP)—a 200-hour postdoctoral program specializing in care for children and pregnant women.

I am FOCUS-certified, which is a brain-based chiropractic approach to supporting developing nervous systems, which guides the “regulation-first” mindset I bring into every school interaction.

I live on Lake Wissota with my husband, Vince, and our two sons, Avi and Ari. I am committed to helping children reach their full potential in school environments that support regulation, connection, and readiness to learn.

The Board of Directors

  • Dr. Pete Camiola, DC

    PRESIDENT

“It’s an honor to be here. I’ve coached and mentored alongside Lona and Amanda for years, and witnessing what they’ve accomplished firsthand has been remarkable. Being onsite and seeing the impact in real time is incredible—and I’m excited to help expand this so more young people can receive the gift of chiropractic.”

  • Dave Michel

    TREASURER

“It’s an honor to be part of this group. I’m a big supporter of alternative medicine, and a bit of a crunchy guy, so being involved in an initiative that supports students in this way aligns deeply with what I care about.”

  • Dr. Patti Guiliano, DC

    BOARD MEMBER

“When I was working in schools, we weren’t even allowed to tell students we were chiropractors or talk about the care they truly needed. Hearing about this model blew me away. We have to do this everywhere; we owe it to these kids.”

  • Christine McMasters

    BOARD MEMBER

“I’ve watched the needs of students increase year after year. Schools couldn’t meet those needs alone, and our first partnerships were with mental health providers. When chiropractic entered the conversation, we saw the impact immediately. We’ve learned, grown, and witnessed the real difference it makes—and there is so much opportunity to help students.”

  • Andrea Polnaszek

    SECRETARY

“As a social worker serving kids who have experienced significant trauma, I believe deeply in natural approaches to healing. Supporting this work feels aligned with everything I stand for.”

  • Dr. Andrew White, DC

    BOARD MEMBER

“My work is all about increasing access to care, and the biggest barriers are always money and time. Chiropractic is one of the most cost-effective, accessible entry points in healthcare. The earlier we can get young people under care, the better—and this model creates a path for that.”

Meet our on-site care team.

Dr. Kelsey Thomas, DC

With a background in kinesiology and deep roots in Wisconsin, Dr. Kelsey is passionate about helping people heal from the inside out. She focuses on care for our youngest learners, providing adjustments to 4K students and continuing advanced training in pediatric and prenatal chiropractic care through the ICPA.

Dr. Kelsey believes in the body’s natural ability to self-heal and loves supporting that process in kids from an early age. Outside of school hours, she enjoys all things crafty, tending to her houseplants, and spending time with her husband in Chippewa Falls.

Nadine Bresina, Chiropractic Assistant

Nadine is the steady, caring presence supporting our school-based care. As our lead Chiropractic Assistant, she helps with exams, coordinates onsite logistics, and brings warmth and ease to every interaction. Kids feel safe around her, and so do parents and staff.

Nadine is also the author of Iggy the Inchworm Visits the Chiropractor, a charming children's book that introduces kids to chiropractic care. She loves spending time with her family and her grandkids, who keep her inspired every day.

Dr. Shelby Henriksen McGraw, DC

Dr. Shelby grew up in Lakeville, Minnesota, where her love for movement and teamwork was shaped through competitive dance, volleyball, and softball. She earned a full-ride volleyball scholarship to Loyola University Chicago, graduating in 2008.

She returned home to pursue chiropractic, graduating from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2014. Dr. Shelby partnered with Dr. Lona Cook and practiced in Hudson, Wisconsin, for ten years, where she developed a strong passion for caring for children and young adults.

Dr. Shelby is excited to work with students and athletes in the Chippewa Falls community, supporting their performance, nervous system health, and overall well-being.

She lives in River Falls with her husband, Kyle, and their three French bulldogs — Sully, Walter, and Luna.
